Booborowie is an Aboriginal word meaning a round waterhole. This small town was proclaimed in 1877 but the area was settled by pastoralists as early as 1843. It is said to be fine merino wool country. I was part owner of a weekend retreat near Booborowie at one time and recall pleasant evenings in the pub playing pool.
