Melrose - Upper North Region, South Australia.

The naming of Melrose has long been controversial but the town is undoubtedly one of the oldest in South Australia, dating from at least 1853. The town was laid out by a mining company. Today it is a favourite stopping point on the road to the Flinders Ranges as well as a base camp for visitors to the beautiful Mt Remarkable National Park.
