Milang - Coorong Region, South Australia.

Milang is a little town on the shores of Lake Alexandrina. A plaque on the foreshore commerates the visit to the site in 1830 by Capt Charles Sturt on his epic journey down the Murray to the sea. Milang was laid out in 1853, the name being derived from the aboriginal for a place of sorcery. During the Nineteenth Century it was a flourishing port and shipbuilding centre for the River Murray trade.

Whether it was also a tourist spot I don't know - this is quite posssible given the railway from Adelaide. There are numerous shacks on the foreshore which have a 1950's appearance to them as well as a popular caravan park.
