Renmark - Riverland Region, South Australia.
Renmark was originally a pastoral area on the River Murray. In the 1880s the South Australian Government invited the Canadian-born Chaffey brothers to establish an irrigation area similar to the one in nearby Mildura in Victoria. Despite early setbacks, the area has established itself as a significant wine, citrus and table fruit producer, not to mention holiday destination.
