Since the previous picture was taken, 4 spires have been added to the tower (in 1981). Two of the original spires were destroyed in a storm in 1956 and the other two were removed for safety reasons. The church has developed in stages as funds permitted. The original 1848 structure is subsumed in the later building. The whole was completed in 1938.
